Photographing the Full Moon over the Jefferson Memorial from the Tidal Basin was a memorable experience and true test in patience. Cloudy conditions made for less than ideal conditions. The Full Moon in July 2024, aka the Buck Moon is named for the time of year when young male deer (bucks) begin to sprout new antlers.

This July, the Buck Moon created a stunning contrast with the illuminated Jefferson Memorial. The combination of the Buck Moon’s glow with the serene reflection of the Jefferson Memorial in the Tidal Basin made for an unforgettable night for me and my photography friends!
